DESCRIPTION:
This class is designed to be the 2nd or 3rd stepping stone for belly dance students, depending on your goals with the dance.
Intermediate Technique classes take moves you know from beginner technique class and create layered movements, more complex combinations, and the technique is a bit more physically demanding. There is a stronger emphasis on stage presence and having a rounded education in Oriental Dance (aka Belly Dance).
Students will explore a different focus or style each month as listed below in the Schedule section.

THEME of the MONTH
JUNE and JULY: “Layering… friend or foe.” Layering one move with another can enrich your dance or make you look ridiculous. Learn not only the body technique, but the finesse to balance the look of your layering.

PREREQUISITES
Students in Beginner Technique group classes: If you are currently enrolled in a beginner technique class, you should complete at least 1 year of these classes before moving into intermediate technique. If you are interested in performing, you should consider going from beginner technique to beginner troupe first (see below).
Students taking private classes: Because students in private classes may move faster that those taking group classes, After about 6 months, consult your teacher or stop by for a $10 drop in to see if you’re ready for this class.
Students in the Beginner Troupe: After being in the troupe for at least 6 months, you may want to add the intermediate technique class to your schedule. This will help guide you into the intermediate troupe level and round you out as a dancer.
Students in the Intermediate Troupe: It is highly suggested that you supplement your troupe experience with this technique class. You automatically qualify for this class.
Advanced/Professional students: You will find this to be perfect for continuing to hone your craft. Combinations will be somewhat challenging but will give you a chance to perfect your stage presence, posture, hands, arms, and other common trouble areas.
