DESCRIPTION:

Intermediate classes are intended for students who have completed about 1-2 years of beginner level classes with Linda including beginner choreography. Students with similar training from other teachers are welcome.

Intermediate 1: Classes that cover Intermediate technique including layering, traveling moves, and combinations. Drop-In’s and packages are available during Intermediate 1 series. Number of classes per session varies. See the Schedule below for current info.

Intermediate 2: Choreography classes taught in 6 or 8 week sessions. Enjoy choreographies in classical, modern, and folkloric styles. Choreographies often teach the use of props such as veils, finger cymbals, sword balancing, cane, and more.

The time slot used for intermediate classes will alternate between intermediate 1 and 2 sessions. See the schedule below for what’s happening now…

PRICING:

  • This level is offered in class packages only.
  • Students purchase a package of classes for the choreography/session they wish to study.
  • The price and dates for the sessions are listed in the Schedule section below.
  • Packages are 5 to 8 weeks long depending on the choreography/topic.
  • The price of a choreography will be $12 per class, paid at the beginning of the choreography’s session. 5 classes= $60, 6 classes= $72, etc.

    Discounts and Missed Classes:

  • If purchasing two choreographies at a time, you receive a $10 discount on the total price.
  • New students to Linda’s classes receive $10 off their first package.
  • If you miss a class during a choreography, you may use $12 towards a private lesson or you may drop in on a level 1 class of your choice.
  • You may use only one missed class credit per choreography
  • Missed class credits must be used within 2 months of the missed class.

    THURSDAYS: 7:45-8:45 pm at Green Hills School of Dance in Nashville-

  • Intermediate 1: Well-rounded Technique and Combinations for Intermediate Students: October 2nd - November 6th. 6 weeks total: $72 or Drop in for $15.
  • Intermediate 1 & 2: “The Cabaret Performance” - A great series for all Beginner-2, intermediate, and even advanced students, this series explores the format and dances that make-up a traditional show as used primarily by Turkish and American dancers in the 70’s and 80’s. Both combinations and guided improvisation will be used: November 13th - December 18th (no class on Thanksgiving). 5 weeks total: $60 or Drop in for $15.

    Current class cancellations for all levels and locations are as follows:

  • October 31st (Halloween): No classes in Franklin
  • November 27th (Thanksgiving): No classes in Green Hills
  • Novemeber 26th and 28th (day before and after Thanksgiving): We will still have classes in Brentwood and Franklin if there are enough people planning to attend. These dates will not count against your packages if you decide not to come.
  • December 24th-25th (Christmas Eve and Day): No classes in Brentwood or Green Hills
  • December 26th (day after Christmas): We will still have class in Franklin if there are enough people planning to attend. This date will not count against your packages if you decide not to come.
  • December 31st (New Year’s Eve): No classes in Brentwood
  • January 1st (New Year’s Day): We will still have class in Green Hills if there are enough people planning to attend. This date will not count against your packages if you decide not to come. (classes resume as usual on Friday, January 2nd)
  • March 19th, 2009 (Belly Dance Superstars performing at the Belcourt Theatre in Nashville): No classes in Green Hills

    • Canceled classes do not count against your class packages.
