Prerequisites/class description:
These classes will take you through basic rhythms and pair them with dance steps in a patient, methodical way. They are designed to be added to your current belly dance class schedule.

Dancers of all levels and styles have a place within the classes. Beginner dancers focus on getting the dance moves on time and making sure their finger cymbal patters are accurate. More advanced dancers are encouraged to do these things as well as work on their stage presence, posture, layering, technique, etc. Though you are in a group, you will receive a lot of individual attention.

Zill Drill classes are geared towards dancers with little or no experience using finger cymbals; and that attend at least beginner level classes/troupes.

Dancers should at least know how to shimmy, use the basic Egyptian walk, un-weighted hip lifts and drops, basic big hip circles, ummies, and snake arms. You don’t have to be great at them, you just need to be familiar with them. Generally these students have been taking weekly classes for at least 6 months.
